Description: Each package contains 1 lb (~31) of fresh-filled, precooked, square-shaped Pierogi. Each Pierogi is filled with potatoes and Cambrooke Foods' special cheddar cheese and onion blend in a fresh pasta pocket. Pierogi are versatile and can be served boiled, sauteed, microwaved or deep fried -- delicious served as an appetizer or an entree. They can be eaten plain, with your favorite sauce, or with butter and salt. Parents will also love Pierogi -- they make an excellent choice for a healthy, after-school snack!
Preparation:
Stove top: Bring 2-3 quarts of water to a boil, salt optional. Place frozen pierogi into boiling water. Stir gently. Decrease heat and allow to simmer for no longer than 3-4 minutes. Drain and rinse carefully.* Serve with your favorite sauce. For best results, prepare as directed, after draining pan fry in a little oil or butter to reduce starchiness.
Microwave oven: Place frozen Pierogi in microwavable dish. Completely cover Pierogi with your favorite sauce or gravy. Cover dish with plastic wrap. Heat on high for 30 seconds per Pierogi. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
Conventional oven: Place frozen Pierogi in pan. Completely cover Pierogi with your favorite sauce. Place lid on pan or cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 400° F for 25-30 minutes or until filling is hot. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions: Simply serve with olive oil (or butter) and a sprinkling of Cambrooke's Chicken Consomme and cracked black pepper or your favorite sauce/gravy. For a fabulous gourmet meal, serve with sauteed vegetables folded through meal. Another quick and easy idea: Drop Pierogi into boiling Chicken Consomme for an awesome quick meal.
Storage: Keep frozen.
