2009 Cognito
The nose
shows black tar, dried blackberries and candy red apple. Aged in
neutral French Oak barrels, Cognito reveals layer after layer of
juicy fruit aromas and flavors, a full mid-palate, and lush,
velvety tannins that continue through the finish. Fruit-forward and
approachable now, it will continue to improve for the next 3-4
years. Production: 188 Cases
Blend: 42% Mourvèdre, 27%
Grenache, 21% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah
2009 Le Thief
To make
Le Thief every year, we began with a stellar selection of fruit
driven Syrahs made even richer with the addition of sturdy, smoky
Mourvèdre and bright, succulent Grenache. The 2009 Le Thief offers
a nose of dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and crushed blackberries.
In the mouth the wine is medium-bodied and soft on the approach
with a round mid-palette and long velvety finish with persistent
tannins. This year’s Le Thief leaves a delicious sweet-tart finish
that invites another sip. Production: 398 Cases.
Blend: 56% Syrah, 33% Grenache,
11% Mourvèdre
