CHARDONNAY
Conner
Lee Vineyards
A Salmon-Safe Vineyard
Tasting Notes
This 2009 Vintage marks our sixth year using grapes from the
Connor Lee Vineyards—one of the premier Chardonnay vineyards in
Washington State. Vines from the gentle south-facing slopes in
central Washington produce some of the most intense Chardonnays the
Pacific Northwest has to offer. The rich, buttery character
seen in this wine is the result of a cool (50 F°) primary and a
full secondary malo-lactic fermentation. Two months of French oak
aging adds complexity to the wine’s rich fruit and honey flavors as
well as providing the consumer with a long, smooth toasty
finish.

Magazine
“It’s almost unheard of to see
vineyard-designated wine at this price, particularly from such a
highly regarded Chardonnay source in the Columbia Valley. A
light barrel program allows for sweet lemons, pineapple, and Golden
Delicious apple aromas. The entry is exotic and hedonistic
with more apple, banana, and lemon custard flavors, balanced by
remarkable tartness that targets you cheeks.”

Magazine
“A fine value in a single-vineyard
Chardonnay, this marries crisp apple and citrus fruit to big,
toasty, coconut and vanilla flavors from some sort of oak
treatment. A lot of power and flavor for the
price.”
