The Vineyard:The 2009 growing season was a hotter than the average year with several heat spikes above 100° F. Due to our proximity to the Van Duzer Corridor every afternoon the winds picked up and dropped the temperature down 3°-4° keeping our vineyard cooler than our neighbors. This allowed our grapes to mature at a relatively slower pace which gave us the opportunity to have adequate hang time without elevated sugars. Resulting in a wine with low alcohol and full ripe flavors.
