2005 Cuvée des Cinq
This blend begins by hand picking the finest fruit from the most meticulously farmed vineyards found on the limestone rich hillsides of Paso Robles. Each of the five varietals contributes its own distinct character and flavor to this carefully crafted Rhone blend. After aging in French oak barrels for eighteen months, the blend comes together to create a whole much greater than the sum of its parts.
Dark, plush, and inviting, the cuvee displays aromas of unending complexity. Red and black fruits are complimented by rich aromas of coffee, spices, and charred meat. The mouth is well-structured with a sweet core of ripe, cherry-like fruit. Ample tannins and balanced acidity speak to the wine’s ability to age for at least another 5-10 years.
