For red wines from the Central Coast, 2006 was another great year. The abundant rainfall during the winter and early spring brought new life to our vineyards with a beautiful crop and pure fruit flavors. For Cypress Vineyards Shiraz, our passionate commitment is to preserve and showcase the great cherry and currant fruit flavors resplendent in grapes grown in the Central Coast. TECHNICAL DATA Composition: 86.5% Shiraz and 13.5% Petite Sirah Total Acidity: 0.61 g/100ml pH: 3.85 Alcohol: 13.52% alc by vol. Residual Sugar: 0.39 g/100ml WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS The 2006 Cypress Vineyards Shiraz is dark purple red in color with youthful hues. The aroma is dominated by brambly berry fruit of boysenberry and blackberry with black pepper spiciness. On the palate, the aromas are echoed with a very plump and soft, jammy fruit texture lasting through the very satisfying finish. Try Cypress Vineyards Shiraz with beef fajitas, pizza or spicy, hearty chili. This wine should be enjoyed in its youth or cellared up to five years.
