Arneis is even more rare on this side of the pond, where it has been almost single-handedly saved from obscurity by the famed Cal-Ital winemaker Jim Moore.
This wine exhibits the classic Arneis fingerprint - floral aromas, a spicy nose and mid palate and a slightly bitter finish that creates a beautiful balance/tension with the natural fruit in this dry wine.
Food Pairings
Mediterranean-inspired "primi piatti"
Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese
Anything with garlic (though not tomato-based sauces).
Try this wine with clams or mussels steamed in white wine with garlic and parsley, all atop good linquini. Serve with a Caesar salad and garlic toast and nobody's getting up from the table until everything's all gone, I guarantee.
True confession. I love this wine. We served it at our wedding after one helluva selection ordeal. We drove our caterer crazy, bringing 18 bottles of wine to the "audition tasting" they prepared for us. We tasted each of the chef's candidate items with the wines we thought would go best, then eliminated items and wines one by one until we had six great matches. This was one of the wines that made the cut, though I can't remember for the life of me what we chose to serve it with!
Alcohol: 13.6%
Acidity: pH: 3.37 TA: 6.9 g/l
Cases: 106
Color: pale straw/greenish-yellow
Aroma: jasmine/ginger/pear, hints of almonds
Flavor Profile: citrus/peach/pear, more hints of almonds

SKU: LUV-ARN-06C

Other products in the category All Wines (alphabetically):

Adelaida Cellars, 2005 Cabernet -- A deep and earthy Cabernet, from Paso Robles West Side

Adelaida Cellars, 2005 Reserve Cabernet, Viking Estate Vineyard -- The wine that is the jewel in the portfolio of Adelaida Cellars, from Paso Robles famed West Side

Andrew Murray Vineyard, 2005 Syrah, Santa Ynez Valley -- A favorite selection from our Rhone blending classes.
