Exercise for Frail Elders is a comprehensive workbook that illustrates and discusses a variety of exercises, taking into account the limitations and special needs of people with cognitive disorders, disabilities or sedentary lifestyle. It is a practical reference for program directors, administrators, and fitness leaders working with seniors, the frail elderly or other special adult populations.
This training guide provides the tools needed to help frail elders and adults with a variety of special needs to maintain or improve their level of functional fitness. The book also addresses inherent challenges when working with older adults, as well as how to promote a sense of fun and social connectedness.
Almost all the exercises are performed from a seated position (chair or wheelchair), however, a few allow the participat to stand, using the seat for support.
