Every Activity of Daily Living is important and any failure or difficulty is frustrating. When scooping up food on the fork or spoon becomes difficult, the Plate Guard offers a convenient "backboard" to make it much easier. Now the food doesn’t go over the edge and onto the table, but rather onto the spoon or fork. It may sound trivial, but when it’s you or a loved one having trouble, this seemingly little aid can do a lot of good, turning failure into success.
The Plate Guard attaches to most standard plates that are round and 9" to 11" in diameter. It stays in place by tension, tightly hugging the plate. In doing so, it provides a convenient "backboard" for scooping and collecting food on utensils. Color: clear.
What we like best about this product:
Remaining independent and requiring the least amount of help is a goal sought by every person with dementia. And when a simple little device can help, it's wonderful. This simple device can make a frustrating meal once again pleasurable and successful, increasing independence and decreasing dependence. When the act of collecting food on the fork or spoon meets with difficulty this plate rim can be a real blessing, eliminating frustration and making a meal a successful activity rather one of frustration.
