Furthermore, they are designed to be fitted with spikes and snow crampons adding to the traction and they are sold with binding installed. They are also slush proof since the slush often meet on lake in winter do not stick either to their frame or decking compared to aluminium or rawhide snowshoes.<BR><BR>Also consider that a decking of same size will offer a little bit more flotation surface than the equivalent size of certain type of laced snowshoes. Compared to aluminium snowshoes their binding are positioned more in the middle to maximize the flotation in deep snow.</P>
