<div aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><strong aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><font aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0" color="#800000">VINEYARD:</font></strong> This Demeter certified-Biodynamic® vineyard stretches alongside the Russian River in Mendocino County, where cool nights and rich soil cultivate wonderful Sauvignon Blanc. On this site we implement careful canopy management to protect the fruit from the hot Mendocino sun. In order to preserve the delicate flavors, grapes from this vineyard are harvested almost two weeks earlier than Sauvignon Blanc from our Russian River vineyards. </div>

<div aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0">We named this wine "Casey's Block" in honor of our dear friend Casey Burke. A fellow devotee to Biodynamic farming, Casey taught us a great deal about this method of natural winegrowing. We dedicate this Sauvignon Blanc to his memory. </div>

<div aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><strong aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><font aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0" color="#800000">VINIFICATION:</font></strong> The grapes were taken to the winery early in the morning under cool conditions to preserve the delicate fruit. After whole cluster pressing, the free run juice was settled and cold tank fermented in stainless steel until bottling. The result is a wine that sparkles with incredible clarity and crispness. </div>

<div aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><strong aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0"><font aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0" color="#800000">VINTAGE:</font></strong> "Extreme" would be a good description of the 2008 vintage. The elements played a huge roll in our vineyard management - from frost to drought, high winds to heat waves and eventually smoke from fires hundreds of miles away, we were hard at work from start to finish. Initially, harvest began early in August, but cooler temperatures slowed things down and it continued at an even pace that lasted into October. The 2008 vintage was excellent for Sauvignon Blanc - with no rain during the growing season the Sauvignon Blanc fruit was very clean and fully-ripened with concentrated flavor. </div>
