Located in the foothills of Sonoma Valley, it is defined by varying sun exposures, altitudes and soil types. The multitude of growing condtions within one site provides winemakers with a variety of flavors and aromas. TASTING NOTES: Typically a robust varietal, this Petite Sirah has smooth tannins and weighty mouthfeel. In 2005 there are flavors of currant, boysenberry, leather, coffee and toast. Excellent alcohol to tannin balance gives the wine an elegant silky-ness. WINEMAKING: The berries were cold soaked prior to fermentation in small bins and open top fermentors. After a minimalist regimen of daily punchdowns, the wine was sent to barrel.
