Malbec's popularity continues to grow as enthusiasts discover its lushness and age ability.  </div> <div> </div> <div>WINEMAKING: The grapes were fermented 28 days in maceration in a pumpover tank. The wines were pressed at dryness and then placed in French oak barrels for 20 months. The final wine was blended and bottled in May of 2008. </div> TASTING NOTES:  At the moment, Malbec is rising to prominence among Bordeaux varietals, because it is both a wonderful blending wine, adding middle palate richness and texture to Cabernet Sauvignon, and delightful on its own. This bottling is classic Malbec; darkly colored, very distinct in aroma and flavor (dark plum, blueberry, tobacco, sweet pepper), fleshy in texture and long on the finish. It is well balanced with slight notes of oak. Despite its current accessibility, it will develop with additional bottle aging, and is likely to be at its optimum between 2 and 4 years.
