The Benziger family recommends decanting this wine before tasting. VINEYARD: Dragonsleaf Vineyard in Bennett Valley benefits from the warmth of the Sonoma Mountain appellation and the cooling afternoon breezes that usher in the fog from the south. Spicy Syrah, bright, elegant Grenache, soft and round Cinsault, thrive in the Rhone-like climate. VINIFICATION:  In 2006, Dragonsleaf Red is made up of 78% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah and 10% Cinsault. The grapes were cold soaked 3 days prior to fermentation in open top fermentors, punched down by hand and then pressed lightly to maintain a delicate balance between flavors, color and tannin.
