Our 2004 Sauvignon Blanc was produced from select vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County. One third of this wine was barrel fermented and aged `sur lies' in new French oak barrels. Two thirds of this wine was stainless steel fermented in order to retain its vibrant fruit character. Our Sauvignon Blanc is a delicious 'Graves' style white wine with fragrant ripe grapefruit, honeydew melon, flint, straw, and mineral aromas. More subtle is a hint of vanilla, toasty oak and yeasty bread. This wine is crisp and bright on the palate with a rich, lingering, citrus finish.
93 points - Doug Wilder, The Wilder Side of California
"This is the newest release from Tom Montgomery at Bugay. This fruit comes from Dry Creek where the acid and richness that I love in Sauvignon Blanc is abundant. Fresh and crisp with excellent vibrancy, silky viscosity on the mid palate, with a long lemon and mineral-laced finish. "
