"The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is the most herbaceous of the three Alexander Valleys (the 1995, 1996 and 1997). It reveals more tannin in the finish, as well as an atypical note of eucalyptus. It displays a huge nose of cigar box, spice, and jammy red and black currant fruit scents. This is a large-scaled, full-bodied, dense wine with a terrific mid-palate impression."
