This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced exclusively from the Margarita Vineyard. The vines were planted in 1999. The Margarita Vineyard is the southernmost vineyard in the Paso Robles Appellation. It is actually much closer to the town of San Luis Obispo than Paso Robles. Located just 14 miles From the Pacific Ocean at an altitude of more than 1000 feet. These factors result in perfect conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon with warm days and cool nights. The resulting wine has an abundant intensity of fruit, but still maintains freshness. In addition, hillside plantings and calcareous soil (plus tons of fossilized sea shells) give the wine a mineral thread uncommon in most reds at any price-point. The wine was produced and bottled by Broadside a few miles east of the vineyard in the town of Creston.
