Michael Austin grew up in a monastery on the outskirts of France. He was raised by a pack of wild nuns who taught him how to live on a strict diet of wine, cheese and real estate investments. Today, he is religious about only one thing – making great wine.
Vineyard Notes: In 1869, Joshua James Priest gained title to 740 acres of the original 8000 acre Catacula land grant. Located East of Lake Henessy on the borders of Pope and Chiles Valley, the modern day Priest Ranch is a 1670 acre parcel with planted elevations ranging from 900’ to 2100’. 175 acres are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Grenache.
