2004 Lancaster Estate Red Table Wine
97ptsWE "Lancaster burst on the scene with enormous buzz, perhaps before they had really earned it. Steadily but surely, they’ve built up the wine, and the ’04 is the best ever. It’s a gorgeous Cab, softly complex, rich in cassis, cherry, spice and oak flavors anchored with warm, earthy tannins. In fact, the earthiness stands it in good contrast to Napa Valley, making it wholesome and complete." — S.H.
"Deep ruby. Focused cherry and blackcurrant aromas lifted by a mineral element. The brisk palate features spicy dark berry flavors, silky tannins and a refreshingly bitter quality on the back. Nicely persistent and elegant in style, with the concentration to age." 90ptsIWC
Estate grown, produced and bottled, our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon has lush ripeness, with deep black cherry and plum characters, accented by lavender and spice. Supportive tannins provide structure for the rich fruit, and layers of complexity carry over the long finish. Aged 22 months in French oak barrels, the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered, to retain purity of expression. 2,700 cases produced. This is a California Wine
