2006 Taz Pinot Noir Santa Barbara - This is a blend of Pinot Noir from the Fiddlestix Vineyard and North Canyon Vineyard, this wine exemplifies blending at its best and the talent behind winemaker Jon Priest. After de-stemming and a three day cold soak, this Pinot Noir was whole berry fermented in small open-top fermenters. The wine was moved to French oak barrels, where it aged for 13 months. Ripe, with high-toned plum, black cherry and cherry rhubarb flavors that have a sweet-and-sour edge, picking up a dash of cedary oak, which adds a touch of complexity. . .and we love the price!
