The flavors are that of a rich golden delicious apple with flinty mineral notes and a hint of butter. Surprisingly full bodied for an un-oaked chardonnay. A charateristic that came from natural, partial malolactic fermentation from the wild yeast that was on the grapes when they were harvested. The Balletto Winery is located in the southwest area of the Russian River Valley in the middle of the 280-acre Balletto family property. The western edges of the ranch border the Laguna de Santa Rosa vital wetland habitat, a home to many species of birds and animals. The Balletto family felt that the area of land they owned along the Laguna was so beautiful that it should be shared with others. They were able to come to an agreement with Sonoma County's Agriculture Preservation & Open Space District to preserve this land for all those living in the area, and for visitors to our wonderful county! Future visions include a seasonal trail for all to enjoy.
