The Sauvignon Blanc grapes grow lusciously in the cool valley south of Renwick, in glacial gravel deposits, intermixed with layers of clay and loess. Winters are cold, but moderate summer breezes coupled with occasional rain temper the heat, allowing for fruit flavor concentration. Tom’s goal was to add his own stylistic preference of lightness and drinkability to a “classic” fruit forward Kiwi Sauvignon which would complement other wines he produces and sells in the United States.
