The "black wines" of Cahors are historically (and presently) heavily dependent on the Malbec, although the grape's presence in Bordeaux has declined a great deal since the mid-twentieth century. In California, it is more often found as a component of the Meritage, or "Bordeaux-style" blends than as a stand alone varietal.  </div> <div aria-level="0" aria-posinset="0" aria-setsize="0">      The premier release of the CCV Malbec (100% stand-alone varietal) is a fruit-forward, eminently drinkable wine even in its relative youth. Richly textured in the mouth, the flavors of dark cherry with hints of herbs and leather meld well with the oak-derived flavors of dark roasted cocoa bean, spice and vanilla.
