The Appelation: 67% Sonoma Valley-Mountain Terraces Vineyard 33% Sonoma Valley-Carneros-Sangiacomo Vineyard The Vintage: Early bud-break and a warm, dry growing season led to an earlier than usual harvest in the vintage of 2004. With low crop yields, the fruit is deeply colored, flavorful and concentrated, inviting comparison to the dynamic wines of 2002. The Blend: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon 33% Merlot 100% Open Top-Punch Down Tank Fermentation 23 months in French & American Oak Cooperage The Wine: As with the multiple award winning 2003, this edition of our Bordeaux-style blend is a classic. Deep, rich and layered, the wine displays the dark fruit characteristics of it’s mountain grown Cabernet with the complexing addition of Carneros Merlot. Hints of cola spice, vanillin and cedar add dimension to the dark cherry and plum fruit while plush tannins add to the sense of richness in the mouth. Luscious tonight, this wine will gain in subtlety and depth over the next 5-8 years. Winner: Gold medal-2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Alc: 14.6% TA: 6.0 G/L Ph: 3.75</P>
