Back in the early KC period of Heavy Metal-Jazz-Classical fusion [Court, Wake, Lizard, Islands], the band was part of many differing communities of British musical endeavors, not just the rock arena - with musicians from jazz (Keith Tippett, Marc Charig, Nick Evans), classical (Paulina Lucas, Robin Miller) and experimental (Jamie Muir) scenes called upon to expand the music.
Fans of Crimson's Islands album will no doubt recognize the late double-bassist Harry Miller, who is found here alongside other legends Mike Osborne alto sax and clarinet, Mongezi Feza trumpet, Kenneth Terroade tenor sax and flute, and Earl Freeman piano in a free-jazz blowout from 1969 led by the seldom recorded composer/drummer - and holographic pioneer - Selwyn Lissack!
