Less than a year ago nomadic guitar player Phil Brown (Little Feat, the Jimi Project, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang) arrived in Austin, Texas and reconnected with drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, XTC, Mr.Mister, Trail of the Dead, Jude Cole, The Rembrandts,), the two had first met in the late 70s doing sessions in LA. They started weekly Austin bar gigs encouraging other players to sit in and then one night BAM! the massive sound of Malford Milligan (the legendary blues voice from Storyville, Stick People) erupted from the house, a few months later the bottom feeder Mark Andes (Canned Heat, Spirit, Firefall, Heart, Alejandro Escovedo) arrived in the same fashion and impossibly, out of those inauspicious beginnings, in those sweaty bars, a kinship was born.
