2004 Cuvée des Cinq
This blend begins by hand picking the finest fruit from the most meticulously
farmed vineyards found on the limestone and calcareous-rich hillsides of
Paso Robles, California. Each of the five varietals contributes their
own distinct character and flavor to this carefully crafted Rhône
blend. After aging in 100% French oak barrels for eighteen months,
this blend comes together to create a whole much greater than the sum of
its parts.
Cuvée des Cinq jumps out of the glass with intense red and black fruit from the ripe Grenache, giving way to layers of smoky, spicy aromas from the Mourvèdre and Syrah. The complexity continues into the mouth, revealing Counoise’s bright, elevated cherry and anise flavors with the peppery finish of Cinsault.
After reviewing our first release of our 2004 Cuvée des Cinq, Robert Parker writes, “The 2004 Cuvee des Cinq is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, and Counoise. Its medium ruby color is followed by notes of strawberries, cherries, herbs, and dusty, loamy soil notes. Made in a medium-weight style reminiscent of a lighter-weight Chateauneuf du Pape…”Accolades:
