2006 Viognier
Dealing with fluctuating temperatures and sometimes exasperating weather patterns of the 2006 harvest definitely paid off in the Templeton Gap. Hot enough to develop the ripe, honeyed aromas of apricot preserves and star jasmine, yet cool enough to maintain the white’s bracing acidity, the 2006 season may have created the perfect Viognier. The fresh, floral nose is complemented by the full, lush feel of barrel fermentation and lees stirring. Seamless in structure all the way through the palate, the wine finishes long, clean, and with a hint of crisp melon.
