2004 Syrah
After reviewing our first release of our 2004 Syrah, Robert Parker writes, “The
2004 Syrah from the Easton and Westside Ranch vineyards exhibits an alluring
softness along with plenty of black cherry and currant fruit intermixed with
smoke, herbs, licorice, and earth. It is a finely textured, medium-bodied, supple
wine to drink now and over the next 3-4 years.”
The 2004 Syrah is a blend of wines made from two outstanding vineyards on the
Westside of Paso Robles. The fruit from the Easton Ranch provides the blend’s
structural component, as well as its dark, earthy aromas, which wrap around the
lush fruit and velvety tannins from the Westside Ranch.
The blend is characterized by an intense nose of black cherry, plum,
cedar and smoke. Chewy tannins and vanilla notes carry the fruit through
the palate. The finish is long and supple.
