With distinct aromas and flavors of grapefruit, cut grass and melon, this stainless steel fermented Sauvignon Blanc shows excellent length and a crisp, refreshing finish. Grapes for this wine were sourced from vineyards in the Russian River and Dry Creek Valley area of Sonoma County. True to its origin, it displays bright, lifted flavors that pair well with fresh seafood such as oysters on the halfshell or cracked crab. It brings out the best in a simple roast chicken and is a great choice with salads as it stands up to a tangy vinaigrette.
2007 turned out to be a very nice vintage for Sauvignon Blanc in Sonoma County showing distinct accentuated fruit characters. The growing season was moderate until about mid-May when daily temperatures spiked and caused a smaller fruit set than was expected. Moderately warm weather followed, giving an early start to the harvest. We picked Sauvignon Blanc from late August to early September. Yields were down which concentrated the varietal characters, especially the grapefruit overtones.
