This Alexander Valley Shiraz from Sonoma County boasts well-integrated characteristics of blackberry, currant, licorice and white pepper. Sweet vanillin and lightly charred oak enhance the nose to create a structured, classic Shiraz with depth and a long finish. The fruit was harvested in the cool morning hours, then crushed to tank. After 48 hours of skin contact, fermentation was initiated at relatively warm temperatures. Hand plunging was utilized to develop the color and texture of the wine and a portion of the juice was separated from the
skins early for barrel fermentation. The remaining wine was left on skins for additional maceration time before being moved to barrels for maturation.
