With ample rainfall in the 2005-2006 rainy season (17 inches) we were able to justify a bit more crop load than the usual for this dry-farmed vineyard--though still light by most typical syrah yields. The result is that we finally have a few more bottles left for re-orders for our wine club! The wine is full of cool-climate syrah complexities—aromas of white pepper, smoked herbs and plum chutney, with rock-solid fruit in the mouth, which are both supple and intense.-Bill Wathen
