Winemaker's Notes
From our south-facing hillside block at the Vogelzang vineyard, these low-yielding vines produce great juice pretty much every vintage since its 2001 debut. Fermented in French oak casks, then aged in 100% new Taransaud French Oak barrels for 22 months. This wine is still very tight and decanting will bring out aromas of graphite, cigar box, mocha and espresso—with firm, high-toned red fruit and cassis flavors. Enjoy now with decanting, or cellar for 5-8 years.-Bill Wathen
