For the 2007 Villa Emile Chardonnay we again return to the world-renown grapegrowing region of California’s Monterey County. Warm days and cool nights distinguish this region as one of California's premier growing areas for Chardonnay. The 2007 vintage opens with very expressive tropical fruit / pineapple aromas with suggestions of red apple and ripe pear. The fresh fruit aromas carry across to the palate and are joined by background notes of butter and toast in a very crisp and lingering fruit-laden finish. We suggest serving this wine with soft chesses, steamed crab or scallops, or a grilled fish filet—perhaps with a fresh pineapple salsa.
