IBIS JERSEY
Features:
We were thinking of naming the color of this jersey Diadophis punctatus, however we didn't like how those words rolled off the old tongue. Diadophis is the Latin name for the Ringneck Snake you see, and the paint job on this nice little specimen is what got us to thinking about using these colors for the jersey. Here's what our President and designer of the jersey Tom Morgan had to say: "The design was inspired by an encounter I had on the trail with a ring neck snake about 4 months ago. I was riding up a steep fire road and saw a snake unlike any other I had ever seen in the area before. Apparently, spotting the adults is fairly rare, but there it was slithering across my path. Glossy black head, gray-green body, and a bright red-orange stripe around its neck. It looked like a snake as interpreted by a graphic designer. It was really cool looking and that's where the color scheme for the jersey came from."
On this website are a few pictures of a ringneck snake.
In the end we decided to call the color Avocado. Kind of boring we know, but at least it's easy to pronounce. Plus, Orange and Avocado belong together (our other jersey color is orange).
