This is our first release of NapaDan Cabernet Sauvignon and is made with 100% Napa Valley grapes. The wine has a beautiful crimson color with big cherry notes in the nose and tutti fruity, berry jammy cassis flavors that infuse the mouth. Mouthfilling but not overpowering with a wonderfully smooth finish.

2002 Napa Dan Cabernet Sauvignon A fine, full-bodied Cab, fleshy and fat in blackberry and cassis flavors and grilled-meat chewiness. This fully dry wine has rich, sweet tannins and a good finish. It should hold and improve a bit with several years in the bottle. Wine Enthusiast, July 2005
90 points - Exeptional (Wine & Spirits, April 2005)
Polished as the sheen on a ripe black cherry, there isn't a rough edge to this Napa Cabernet. It's a clean, sleek pleasure that will enrich a steak.
Wine of the Week: January 6, 2005
Before there was a wine from the Napa Valley branded "Lynch," there was "Napa Dan." Dan Lynch's license plates read: "Napa Dan." His grandkids don't call him Grandpa Dan. Instead they call him "Napa Dan." Logically then, Napa Dan Lynch has christened his second label, "Napa Dan."
Lynch's 2002 Napa Dan Cabernet Sauvignon -- fashioned by Gary Galleron -- might be his best yet. The wine emits aromas of sweet plums, milk chocolate and cake spices such as clove and cocoa powder, and some oak. On the palate the wine is simply lovely, with a smooth satin texture, and those same-said ripe plum flavors augmented by black cherry. The tannins are supple for immediate consumption and over the next five years.
The Cabernet comes from several different vineyards, including about a third from Lynch's vineyard near Chiles Valley. The 15 percent of Merlot also comes from Lynch's parcel on Spring Mountain. The listed alcohol is 14.7 percent, the TA is .72, the pH is 3.65 and there were but 264 cases produced. --Alan Goldfarb, St. Helena Star
