Our Jack Ranch Vineyard is planted to several<BR>distinct clones of Syrah, each with its own sensory<BR>characteristics. We ferment the various clones<BR>separately, then our winemaking team experiments<BR>repeatedly over the course of the aging process and<BR>right up until bottling, to find the perfect blend of<BR>these different lots.<BR><BR>Our winemaking team, along with proprietor,<BR>David Weyrich, unanimously agrees (after many<BR>trials and little bit of arm-wrestling) that we’ve hit<BR>the nail on the head with our 2003 blend of clones<BR>174, 383 and 877.<BR>Clone 383 brings depth of color and spicy pepper<BR>flvors. Clone 174 lends smoked meat qualities.<BR>Clone 877 adds bright fruit and a unique spiciness<BR>to the blend. Together, the wine offers mature<BR>flavors of smoked meat, earth, tobacco leaf and<BR>black-berried fruits.
