The grapes for this wine were harvested from our Jack Ranch Vineyard in the Edna Valley, one of the coolest growing regions in California. The Pacific Ocean, only about five miles to the west, plays a significant role in the climate at Jack Ranch. Days are warm, and evenings bring fog and cool breezes through the Morro Bay. Temperatures remain fairly even throughout the growing season, allowing the grapes to slowly ripen. This hang time encourages the berries to fully develop intensity and concentration of both color and flavor. This fruit-forward wine shows off cherry-berry and raspberry flavors, balanced by a bit of toasted oak and supple tannins.
