The vineyard is 16 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2006 harvest was long with high amounts of rain and cooler temperatures. Waiting allowed for development of a better balanced wine with enhanced mature flavors and no risk of over ripeness. The grapes were hand picked and secondary sorted then cold soaked and fermented for 20 days before going to barrel. The wine is aged in 100% French oak, 50% new and aged for 22 months. Bright floral aromas of roses, blueberries, and cassis lead into a ripe full bodied mouthfeel loaded with flavors of blackberries, cherries and spice. The wine lingers on the palate with a nice citrus, chocolate and tobacco finish.
