Ghost Block is our premier Cabernet Sauvignon expressing the quality of our estate vineyards. Production is limited, always based on our very best fruit. In its first two vintages, the Estate Ghost Block made from our Rock Cairn vineyard has received fantastic press and enthusiastic reviews from critics and customers alike. Our 2005 Ghost Block Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was placed in the coveted Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2008. On that list, only 14 producers from California were named 7 of which were Cabernet Sauvignon nods. Ghost Block received a score of 93 points in May and sold out shortly thereafter. With the 2005 being our second vintage, this recognition has allowed our young Ghost Block to emerge. Now the time has come, the much anticipated release of the 2006 vintage. Winemaker Rob Lawson notes that the 2006 growing season showed cooler temperatures which allowed for maximum flavors to develop on the vines.
