WINEMAKER NOTES
With a seductively complex and compelling style, the 2005 Laraine Cabernet demonstrates an opulence and balance that only comes from using premium fruit and artisan winemaking techniques. Infused with rich oak and heady spices, the aromatics are a beautiful mixture of red fruits, balsam and cedar, chocolate, and hints of creamy vanilla. The palate is an explosion of concentrated core fruit with a delicious, chewy texture and rich, round mouthfeel. Fleshy and ripe, intense flavors of blackberry, cassis, caramel, anise and nutmeg segue into a smooth finish of firmly packed tannins and excellent length. This wine will reward patient cellaring but is also extremely enjoyable in its youth.
