Block House is the largest of our vineyards and is planted to several different grape varietals, all 100% Certified Organic. The vineyard is named for pioneer George C. Yount's block house, the first Kentucky style block house west of the Mississippi. In the design of a block house, the top floor juts out over the ground floor so that inhabitants can protect the structure. Block houses were often constructed for defense in frontier areas. Tasting Notes The elements of an exceptional Pinot Blanc are delivered in the Elizabeth ROSE. The nose offers fragrances of vanilla, nutmeg and cantaloupe with flavors of watermelon and apple. Round and plush in the mouth; this Pinot Blanc is a medium bodied wine with a long lingering finish. Will pair well with seafood and chicken.
