Home sweet home. This is from my home property and if you have visited, you’ll have seen the signs of the five children. Each year they get more involved in the grape growing and crushing practices, just down the hill from the house at the winery, where all our fruit is crushed. <br /><br />Like some of our other mountain properties, we manage the powerful and potentially brutal tannins into a rounder, more approachable 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This year the crop was low and the intensity that resulted is very evident. Big and tight at a young age, this Cabernet is a good candidate to lay down. Earthy and dark to start, a rich, ripe fruit character comes out with decanting. Cherry, vanilla, toasty oak, leather and cassis flavors accompany the mountain tannins and balanced finish.</P>
