I remember this site as one of the first orchards I removed with my father. We had an Allis Chamlers tractor I loved to work on at 9 years old. Originally planted by my father in 1968, this Rutherford site is surrounded by a pedigree of Napa Valley Cabernet vineyards. Farmed organically, we pick this small site several times each year, several weeks apart to evaluate the flavor profile difference after additional “hang time.”<br /><br />Mixed with the attractive aromas of French oak there is red cherry, cedar, and floral notes. Bright sweet fruit flavors mixed with a spicy, baked cherry pie, violets and toast, finishing with a lingering, mouth-watering texture.
