Notes on the Birch Creek Chardonnay Mendocino (Alder Springs Vineyard) 2007 : WINEMAKER NOTES: Pure Chardonnay grown in the cool mountains not far from the Pacific Ocean and aged for 11 months in 50% new California oak. Pale straw in color. Well balanced nose of ripe and crisp pear and apple fruit, minerality and moderately oaked. Fleshy in the entry, the wine picks up weight and depth as it carries through the midpalate, finishing with balanced acidity and focus that lengthens the finish.
