To help underwrite the 30th Anniversary Campaign we are establishing a Men Who Honor Women section on our website as well as in our Writing Women Back into History publication.
Men Who Honor Women is an opportunity to honor a special man by having his name, birth, and death (if applicable) dates, and a brief description to be included in the Writing Women Back into History Gazette and his name, dates, and 50 word biography included in the Men Who Honor Women section of our website, which will be launched in September 2009. Deadline for inclusion in first edition is July 25, 2009. Email necessary information to nwhp@aol.com.
During our 2010 campaign, a special anniversary publication, Writing Women Back into History, will be one of our major promotional tools. The 16- to 24-page, 11.5 x 15” gazette will focus on the impact of the past 30 years in expanding and interpreting the myriad aspects of women’s history.
The National Women’s History Project will print between 25,000 and 50,000 copies, which will be distributed nationally throughout the year to women’s history supporters, public programs, political and corporate contacts, media and research centers, and many others who recognize the importance of “writing women back into history” over the past three decades.
This special edition publication, and simultaneous web posting, will feature photographs, quotes, and special essays from guest editors and historians, plus brief, enlightening biographies of all the women who have been National Women’s History Month Honorees. These Honorees’ stories represent the widest range of women’s accomplishments and are universally inspiring and empowering.
Writing Women Back into History will also spotlight women’s history performers, authors, filmmakers, and other creative individuals, as well as relevant school, university, and women’s history programs.
