<td valign="top" style="color:#666666;"> This vintage will always hold a special place in our hearts. 1999 marked the 25th consecutive vintage of Merlot made here at Rutherford Hill. From the beginning the production of top-flight Merlot has been our main endeavor. From the highly regarded 1999 vintage we created a deep, well structured Merlot. Our winemaker blended Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to create the final wine. We enjoyed this wine in its youth and appreciate the interesting aromatic and flavor components it shows now that nearly ten years have passed since its bottling. Opening this wine provides a look back into our history and also shows how a well made wine matures and evolves; reminding us that vintage dated wine is a living thing that represents a specific time and place.
