Tasting Notes |
Sangiovese is one of the top two red grapes in Italy, where it’s extensively planted in Tuscany. The famous wines of the Chianti appellation are based in the Sangiovese grape. Sangiovese was brought to California by Italian immigrants, many of whom settled in the Napa Valley. When planted in the right areas and grown skillfully, Sangiovese thrives here and can yield wonderful wines. Our estate vineyard in northeastern Napa Valley provides an ideal location for growing Sangiovese. When you consider the Italian heritage of our family ownership, Sangiovese is a natural wine for us to produce. We enjoy this 2008 estate-grown Sangiovese for its approachability and finesse. Bold aromatics of raspberry and plum greet you and lead to ripe flavors hitched to a balanced, food-friendly acidity. Our 2008 Sangiovese is a natural and winning wine choice to pair with Italian themed menus. Fewer than 600 cases of this delicious wine were bottled exclusively for our direct sales programs. . |
