Tasting Notes |
| Syrah, a noble grape variety planted around the world, has secured its own rightful place here in Napa Valley. The grape gained its prestigious reputation in France’s Rhone region where it is utilized in making Hermitage, Cote-Rotie and Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines. Shiraz, as Syrah is called in Australia, is the country’s most widely planted red grape. Rutherford Hill is proud to offer this Napa Valley Syrah that captures the varietals’ power and forward aromatics in an approachable style. We produced our first Syrah bottling from the 2001 harvest and have been making a limited amount of cellar-worthy Syrah every vintage since. Less than 500 cases of this wine were bottled exclusively for wine club members and for purchase by visiting guests at the winery. |
