VINEYARDS
This wine originates on the terraced hillsides of our estate vineyard on Corsica, a pristine island in the South of France (Napoleon's birth place). Corsica’s Mediterranean climate and soil are particularly favorable for the finicky Pinot Noir. Its aerie soils and sloped hills grow deliciously fragrant fruit that is exquisitely aromatic. Our family vineyards are farmed with sustainable practices and meticulous care. Only the best grapes of each harvest are chosen to be made into this Robert Skalli wine. The resulting wine is full bodied and delicious with silky tannins.
WINEMAKING
Grapes are harvested at the peak of ripeness. The berries are gently pressed, their juice allowed to macerate with the skins and then fermented briefly in oak barrels to maintain the integrity of the Pinot Noir. Complex aromas and flavors develop during the fermentation process to create a drinkable, fruit-forward wine.
